Free Sunday | November 3

On Sunday, November 3, we offer a concert by Marie-Édith Racine with Elsie's violin, as well as the launch of the children's book S'adapter aux changements : Les leçons des puces d'eau, by author France Dufresne.

The Garden trails will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The events will take place in the Aire Desjardins of the Great Hall:

  • 1:30 p.m. - Book launch in collaboration with the Salon du livre de Rimouski: S'adapter aux changements : Les leçons des puces d'eau, by France Dufresne. “In ponds and lakes, amazing little creatures called daphnia live. They are said to be the canaries of our lakes because they are very sensitive to pollutants. In a constantly changing world, daphnids have multiple ways of adapting. My book will teach you all their little secrets! »
  • 2:30 p.m. – Concert by Marie-Édith Racine with Elsie’s violin. The program includes some movements from Johann Sebastian Bach's Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin.

For several weeks now, the Gardens have been hosting the exhibition Faux-plis par hypothèses, a collective exhibition curated by Louise Déry, director of the Galerie de l'UQAM, and Marie-Hélène Leblanc, director of the Galerie UQO. The project, supported by Quebec's chief scientist, highlights the unique role of the university gallery and initiates reflection on the relationship between art and science.
