Laure Waridel is co-founder and former president and spokesperson of Équiterre, a Quebec environmental organization. A PhD ecosociologist and associate professor at the Université du Québec à Montréal specializing in international development and the environment, she is considered one of the pioneers of fair trade and responsible consumption in Quebec.

Laure Waridel is a social activist, a columnist and writer, an environmentalist and a radio and TV commentator.
