LE CHANT DES BÉLUGAS fuses performative art, visual art and sound art.
In the recycled set from ENTRE (2014), audiences immerse themselves in a universe of complex associations: the moving structure, a bench that vibrates in relationship to the performer’s beating heart, the songs of belugas emerging from the feedback between the emitting heart and receiving bench, between the blind or blindfolded artist and the visitors.
The visitor holds a deck of cards offering symbolic actions that answer to the beluga population’s current vulnerability in the Saint-Laurence River. These actions become inscribed into the work’s ecosystem, potentially transforming it.
LE CHANT DES BÉLUGAS is a miniature complex of ecosystems, underscoring how our behaviours impact the environment.
This activity is free for the members of Les Amis des Jardins de Métis and for people who have paid their entrance fee to the Jardins de Métis. Reservation is not required.
