In collaboration with the Conservatoire de musique de Rimouski, we are offering a special musical program delivered by Élise Lavoie's violin students: Aurélie Quimper-Bouchard, Blanche St-Onge, Éloise Gosselin, Eve Liboiron et Félix Ouellet. Michel-Alexandre Broekeart and Jules-Alex Banville will accompany them on piano.
More than 500 winter tulips from the Ferme Pastel will be on exhibit, and for sale. With the collaboration of the floral farm in Grand-Métis, Maggie from the Ferme Pastel, will share her tips on how to force plants, a technique used coax tulips to bloom during the winter months. Five species of tulips will be available for sale, 8 tulips for $27.
The exhibition Temple of Flora is on view in the Aire Desjardins in the Great Hall. The exhibition displays 15 rare prints from this botanical masterpiece published in London between 1799 and 1807. The illustrations are the first to show plants in their native landscapes, albeit largely imagined by artists Peter Henderson, Phillip Reinagle and Abraham Pether.
The pathways in the gardens will be open for visitors who wish to explore.
Admission is free. Cash or on-line voluntary contributions to support our program of off-season activities will be welcome.
