FREE SUNDAY | February 4

Date: February 4, 2024 - 01:00 PM
Place: Les Jardins de Métis
Price: 0$

Snowshoes, bonfire and music!

Join us on Sunday, February 4 at Les Jardins de Métis, from 1 pm to 4 pm for a winter walk or snowshoe. A bonfire will warm your bones and music by Les cousins pleins d’épices will warm your soul.

Les cousins pleins d’épices, two cousins, two musical traditions. Sabin and Gabriel united their love of their own instruments to form an improbable and original duo. The bellows of the accordion of one and the drum skins of the other. Les cousins pleins d’épices is an amalgam of two very different musical universes from which emerges a musical hybrid with the flavours of Quebec, rich in rhythms and the textures of percussion instruments that allow us to travel.

A mix of two musical cultures that are compeltely different, offered up with a menu of folklore and a dash of “Garam masala”. Hmmmm – delicious!

Sabin Jacques is one of Quebec’s master accordionists, a renowned performed and teacher, with several recordings to his credit. Gabriel Dionne (originally from Mont-Joli) is professor of percussion at the Conservatoire de musique de Rimouski and member of the Orchestre symphonique de l’Estuaire.

Winter walk in the gardens from 1 pm to 4 pm. Bring your snowshoes !

Les cousins pleins d’épices perform in the Aire Desjardins of the Great Hall at 1.30 pm.
