2024 will begin with a bang in January with the first Free Sunday of the New Year on Sunday, January 7. Winter walk to the rivermouth and a bonfire on the site of the International Garden Festival will herald the 25th anniversary of the International Garden Festival. Events begin in the Great Hall with a re-broadcast at 1.30 pm of Isabelle Boulay’s Télé-Québec spectacle recorded in the Gardens in September. The Gardens will be open from 1 pm to 4 pm for walkers and snowshoers.A draw will be held to choose a lucky winner of a 2024 calendar by our favourite photographers, Louise Tanguay and Jean-Christophe Lemay. Door prizes include books on the International Garden Festival (celebrating its 25th anniversary edition in 2024) and the one-of-a-kind poster created by illustrator Sébastien Thibault for the Elsie 150 celebrations, recent winner of the Culture Bas-Saint-Laurent prize. The gardens will be open from 1 pm to 4 pm for a winter walk – the pathways are covered with a light skiffle of snow so winter boots suggested. For those who missed it, we will re-broadcast Le chant des possibles featuring performing artist Isabelle Boulay, filmed at the Gardens in September and broadcast on Télé-Québec.
