CANCELLED | Felting circle and discussion on the challenges of promoting local wool

A felting circle and discussion on the issues involved in promoting local wool, with Geneviève Brisson, full professor and environmental anthropologist, UQAR, and Mary Richardson, independent researcher and anthropologist, at 2 p.m. in the Desjardins area of the Great Hall.

Following a talk by Patricia Garon, a sheep farmer from St-Gabriel-de-Rimouski, this workshop will immerse hands, head and heart in wool from here and elsewhere. Each participant will be guided in the creation of one or two small felted pieces. This creative process will go hand in hand with dialogue and reflection on our relationship with this natural fibre and the issues involved in making the most of it in a world where the link to the sources of our everyday materials is increasingly tenuous. Can we reconcile our territories, our know-how and our sensitivity with the challenges of globalisation and this era of multiple crises?

THE ACTIVITY IS POSTPONED TO 2024.
