The role played by women in fashion in Quebec is little known. Yet they have played an important role in its development and promotion, and even in defending those who work in it.
This conference will highlight some of these women. Inspired by the Pionni[ère]s: La mode québécoise au féminin project, it aims to raise awareness of their rightful place in the history of fashion. The result of a number of visits to museum and library archives and numerous meetings, discussions and interviews with key players in the field, it will provide an opportunity to meet pioneers who have been forgotten or erased from the collective memory.
Lectures by Emma Serey, Angèle Simon, Jean-Bernard D. Leclerc and Félicia Tourigny.
