2 to 4 p.m.
By Gisèle Villacorta-Murcia, Collections Archivist, Jardins de Métis.
Over the years, several phases of archaeological excavation have been completed at the mouth of the Mitis River. This work has enabled us to study the various occupations of the territory, and has revealed a wide variety of artifacts. But what happens to artifacts after they've been found? With this workshop, you'll learn more about the basics of dealing with material culture and the profession of archaeologist.
Gisèle Villacorta-Murcia has held the position of Collections Archivist at Les Jardins de Métis since fall 2021. She contributes to the management, documentation and conservation of these collections. She holds a bachelor's degree in archaeology from Université Laval and a master's degree in museology from Université de Montréal.
Reservation is not required.
This activity is free for the members of Les Amis des Jardins de Métis and for people who have paid their entrance fee to the Jardins de Métis.
