Journalist Bobbie Hasselbring won the first ever culinary journalism award with her winning entry showcasing Les Jardins de Métis/Reford Gardens and its chef and cuisine. Bobbie Hasselbring wrote a lyrical piece "A Taste of the Garden". The Canadian Tourism Commission and Food Day Canada joined forces to search out the finest U.S. culinary journalism that celebrates Canadian cuisine. The winners were announced at Canada Media Marketplace, the CTC’s annual get-together for American journalists and Canadian travel-industry reps, held this year at the Fairmont San Francisco April 2-4.
