Discover the Gardens in Winter on March 10 and 11, 2018

Les Jardins de Métis/Reford Gardens are opening the Gardens to the public for the 8th annual special winter visit on Saturday, March 10 and Sunday, March 11 from 12 noon to 4 pm. The first event of the year at the Reford Gardens, Winter Wonderland allows visitors to see behind the cedar hedges and discover the beauty of the gardens in winter. Trails will be marked and a circuit identified for easy snowshoeing. A slightly longer and sportier trail will lead to the mouth of the Mitis River. With the help of the Metis Beach School, snowshoes will be available free of charge (quantities are limited). Heritage Lower St. Lawrence is again partnering with Winter Wonderland as part of its mandate to promote healthy practices for the region’s residents, Francophone and Anglophone, and to encourage outdoor family activities.

SPECIAL EVENTS!

Saturday, March 10 – 5 pm to 7:30 pm: Torchlight Winter Walk. Trails will be lit for a walk in the dark. Bring your toque! Snacks and refreshments will be available (for sale) around the bonfire. Evening outdoor screening of «Elsie in her own words», launched in honour of International Women's Day ... More details to follow.

Saturday, March 10 - Sunday, March 11 – 1 pm to 3 pm: Snowmobile in the Gardens and to the mouth of the Mitis River. This promenade of heritage is offered by Machineries et tracteurs antiques Réginald Morissette. Free with access to Winter Wonderland, voluntary contribution.

Rest Area: Warm up around the bonfires with Chef Pierre-Olivier's famous hot chocolate. For those seeking a warm snack, a winter BBQ will be available ($$$).
 
Cost: $2.50 per person (14 and over), free for children 13 and under.
