Reford Gardens Making its Archives Available

2016-02-05

Since November, with the help of a contribution of $40,000 from Library and Archives Canada, as part of the Documentary Heritage Communities Program, we are actively pursuing our work scanning, organizing and indexing our unique archive of photographs and historic documents. It is a project that requires attention to detail and that never stops as we regularly receive new material that enriches our collection relating to the Reford Gardens and their remarkable story.

Our team is led by museum technician Marjelaine Sylvestre. We are also working with Pierre Aubert of IDnum Technologies (http://www.idnum.ca) from Matane a local firm that specializes in scanning and digital preservation. Once this project is complete, we will know our own archives better and be able share more of the content with you in the coming months in real and virtual exhibitions.

If you have documents or photographs that may be of interest to us, let us know. You can send your information to marjelaine.sylvestre@jardinsdemetis.com.

Here are some of our most recent discoveries from our archives.
