The Gardens of the International Garden Festival Attract Attention Around the World

The interactive gardens of the 16th edition of the International Garden Festival have attracted attention from design media around the world. Whether from Québec or abroad, the stunning visuals of this year’s garden installations have been published in print and electronic media across the world. The Festival has attracts visitors from many countries, many of whom come to the region in the autumn months. The Festival is unique in North America and offers Québec and Canada remarkable visibility on the world stage. In recent months, dozens of designers will join the more than 2,300 from around the world who will be contacted to take part in the next edition of the Festival.

In September Reford Gardens /Jardins de Métis has many attractions to offer visitors. EXPLORE the 26 conceptual gardens on the International Garden Festival. TOUR ERE132, the centre for excellence in green-builiding. WATCH the lambmowers as they munch on the pastures adjacent to the parking lot and enjoy the fanciful accessories created for them by students from ECAL, the École cantonale d’art de Lausanne. DISCOVER the Chambres blanches by architect Pierre Thibault, the models on exhibit in Estevan Lodge and the seven large-size structures and observation platforms along the Mitis River. Pierre Thibault will be back in September and October with his students from the Université Laval for a design studio on installations as an integral part of the exploration of the landscape.  

As one of Canada’s Signature Experiences, the International Garden Festival has enjoyed extensive coverage for the Festival and the region with the help of Le Québec maritime and Economic Development Canada.
