2017-02-21

Les Jardins de Métis are opening the Gardens to the public for the 7thannual special winter visit on Saturday, March 11 and Sunday, March 12 from 12 noon to 4 pm.

The first event of the year at the Reford Gardens, Winter Wonderland allows visitors to see behind the cedar hedges and discover the beauty of the gardens in winter. As every year, trails will be marked and a circuit will be proposed in order to be able to easily practice snowshoeing. A slightly longer and sportier trail will lead to the mouth of the Mitis River.  With the help of the Metis Beach School, snowshoes will be available free of charge (quantities are limited). Heritage Lower St. Lawrence  partners with Winter Wonderland every year as part of its mandate to promote healthy practices for the region’s residents, Francophone and Anglophone, and to encourage outdoor family activities. The safety of the trails and the parking will be ensured by volunteers of La Boussole - Search and rescue in forest of La Mitis.
