Les Jardins de Métis / Reford Gardens today welcomed its 15,000th visitor to the 132 Eco Home during the second consecutive season. Open since June, 2015, the ERE (Eco-residence of the East) 132 Eco Home is a centre for excellence where green building products and technologies from the Lower St. Lawrence region are on display. Certified LEED® Platinum and Novoclimat 2.0, the ERE 132 Eco Home is open every day until October 2. During the summer season, from June to October, visitors to Les Jardins de Métis have free access to the Eco Home. Visitors can also take part in a program of events and activities built around the theme, “To Build is to Choose”, illustrating the many advantages of green building. A Program Rich in Offerings The ERE 132 Eco Home has a wide-ranging program of activities. In addition to being open to visitors every day (more than 500 per day in the high season), the Eco Home presents lectures and workshops on topics related to green building. Workshops are offered to those interested in green building, municipalities, contractors and students in building technologies. On September 17, ERE 132 will host master classes offered by guest chefs as part of the inaugural edition of La Grande Table, the new culinary festival presented by Les Jardins de Métis (www.lagrandetable.tv).
